Craig Wilson, Managing Director of Quality Tourism Development, has been involved in a number of significant tourism development projects over the last 12 years.

He commenced work in the tourism sector leading the product development for the eight Tranz Scenic long distance trains in the mid 1990s. Then from 2001 to 2003 he was heavily involved in developing Qualmark’s new quality assurance systems for accommodation and activity businesses in New Zealand. As a result, Craig is both knowledgeable and passionate about the development of higher quality and higher yielding tourism experiences in New Zealand.

Craig has over 18 years experience in the corporate / consulting environments in both New Zealand and Australia. He was General Manager, Marketing and acting Chief Executive for Tourism Auckland. Prior to this, Craig was Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager for Tranz Scenic (the long distance passenger train division of Tranz Rail) and Area Sales Manager for BP Oil in Sydney, Australia.

Craig’s strengths in strategic planning, marketing, business development and business management result from his experience in sectors as diverse as tourism, energy, retail, fast moving consumer goods and local government.
